Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive member P.K. Krishnadas has alleged that a secret alliance has been forged between the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at the behest of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) to undermine the Hindu unity being upheld by Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan.
Speaking at an interaction organised by the Press Club here on Thursday, Mr. Krishnadas said the IUML was working off and on the stage for the ‘unholy alliance’’ to check the qualitative change in politics that the BJP and its partners hoped to bring about in the election. “Mr. Natesan has now been painted as a murderer after he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah,” he said referring to a disclosure linking Mr. Natesan’s name to the death of Swami Saswatheekananda.
CPI(M) leaders V.S. Achuthanandan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan should have ordered an inquiry against Mr. Natesan during their LDF government, he added.
Asserting that the local body election would secure a historic win for the BJP, Mr. Krishnadas said that protests such as beef festival and some writers’ resignations from the Sahitya Akademi over alleged intolerance were just a travesty for targeting the Modi government.
Acknowledging that the murder of writer N.M. Kalburgi and the lynching incident at Dadri were heinous, he said the BJP was against any attempt to silence free speech. “But such incidents should not be included in the BJP’s account just as acts of Maoists are not attributed to the CPI(M),” he said.
Mr. Krishnadas said the Modi government had given a new grammar and interpretation to politics in the country. Voters in the State would exercise their franchise to support that politics, he added
