CPI(M) leader M.A Baby has said the youth should imbibe values from the life and works of Kannada litterateur Kayyara Kinhanna Rai, who turned 101 recently.
Mr. Baby, who reached the poet’s residence at Badiadukka around 6.30 p.m. on Friday, presented him with a shawl, book, and a basket of fruits. Being told that a former Education Minister had come to greet him, Mr. Rai narrated to Mr. Baby his trying times as freedom fighter and social activist. Mr. Rai termed himself a good farmer, teacher, and a columnist.
Mr. Baby said he was honoured to meet Mr. Rai, who had translated works of Malayalam litterateurs to Kannada and other languages.
