All Ministers except Jayalakshmi are associated with Saritha: LDF

Left Democratic Front (LDF) convener Vaikom Viswan has accused Chief Minister Oommen Chandy of doling out financial help through Congress leaders to various people who had attended the family meetings organised by the United Democratic Front (UDF) in connection with the byelection campaign in Aruvikkara.

Mr. Viswan was inaugurating the march staged by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) district committee to the office of Revenue MinisterAdoor Prakash demanding latter’s resignation on Wednesday for allegedly paying money to the solar scam accused Saritha S. Nair for hushing up the solar cheating case.

The LDF convener alleged that, barring Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Tribes P.K. Jayalakshmi, all ministers in the Oommen Chandy government were creating controversy after controversy over their association with Saritha and the role of Mr. Prakash was quite evident in this.

He has called upon the people to be vigilant against the divisive forces and corrupt elements as they would brig about disastrous impact on society.

Mr. Viswan said it was high time the country rose against forces which were trying to destroy the country.

P.J. Ajayakumar, CPI(M) district secretariat member, presided over the meeting. K.P. Udayabhanu, CPI(M) district secretary; K. Ananthagopan, State committee member; A. Padmakumar, districtsecretariat member, and C. Saji Dinesh, spoke.
