All India Youth Federation (AIYF) activists staged a march to the Collectorate here on Tuesday to protest against the Government’s decision to raise the retirement age.

The area near the entrance to the Collectorate compound witnessed tension when the police stopped the marchers from entering the Collectorate premises. The police foiled the attempt of the marchers to push through the barricade and enter the compound. Communist Party of India district executive committee member C.P. Shyjan inaugurated the march. The march was led by AIYF leaders Mahesh Kakkath, E.D. Mahesh Kumar, M. Surendran and K.P. Sajeesh.
