All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) General Secretary Amarjeet Kaur has said that the toiling masses in the country will oust the Narendra Modi government in 2019 for surrendering the economic system of the country to global capitalism and corporate forces.

Inaugurating the delegates’ meet as part of the State conference of the AITUC here on Monday, Ms. Kaur said that farmers, students, youths, teachers and common people of the country were getting no benefits from the economic policies of the Modi government.

When the rulers of the country were surrendering to corporate interests, the workers would come out against those rulers, she said. The working class that had fought for the freedom of the country could oust the governments that carried out anti-democratic policies, she added.

Observing that India is a country with diverse languages and cultures, the trade union leader said that those ruling the country were trying to implement Hindutva politics by spreading communal poison in all spheres.

Sabarimala issue

The Sangh Parivar raised the Sabarimala issue to destroy the State.

The rulers at the Centre are endangering the country’s heritage and tradition, she said.

Though the Modi government had come to power with a promise to create 2.5 crore jobs and eradicate black money, she said corruption, unemployment and black money were on the rise now.

Communist Party of India State secretary Kanam Rajendran, Centre of India Trade Union State general secretary Elamaram Karim and Indian National Trade Union Congress State president R. Chandrashekharan were among those present.
