A taxi driver at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport returned a 1.5-sovereign gold necklace left by a child passenger in the former’s vehicle on Tuesday.

A family, including the child, that arrived here from Dubai the other day had taken the taxi to Mavelikara in Alappuzha from the airport. However, the family learnt about the child losing the ornament a day after reaching home.

Later, Mansoor, the taxi driver, who was informed about the loss, found the necklace inside the seat belt clip. He then handed over the ornament to an officer at the Valiyathura police station who is a relative of the family at their request, said the airport authorities.
