: A 10-day agriculture festival will begin at Mayyil here on May 10 with the objective of introducing new planting materials to the public and to attract the new generation to cultivation.
The organisers of the event being held at the Mayyil Higher Secondary School grounds here said that Agriculture Minister K.P. Mohanan, and former Ministers T.M. Thomas Isaac and P.K. Sreemathi would attend the various functions during the festival days. The fair will be inaugurated by film actor Anup Chandran at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Cultural programmes, including stage shows, orchestra and plays, would be arranged along with seminars and debates on various issues relating to agriculture. — Special Correspondent
