A jawan hailing from Kavalam was killed in an avalanche in Arunachal Pradesh, according to information reaching here.
N.B. Suresh, 37, of Nalpathilchira House in Kavalam, was killed in the incident on Friday. His relatives said Suresh, a driver, was inside a truck when the avalanche struck. The post-mortem examination had been completed and the body would soon be brought to his native place, they said.
The jawan last visited his hometown nearly a month-and-a-half ago. His father, Bhasuran, is an ex-serviceman. Suresh is survived by his wife and a son.
