Theyyam museum sought at Chandappura

The government has been urged to set up a Theyyam museum at Chandappura here to showcase the ritual art of the north Malabar region.

A memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayaj, Minister for Museums, Archaeology, and Archives Ramachandran Kadannappally, and Public Works Minister G. Sudhakaran called on the government to set up the museum to promote the performing ritual in the region.

Objective

A release said the museum would encourage studies on history and plots of Theyyam performance and draw tourists and artistes.
