The State government is committed to making the Sabari rail project a reality, Works Minister M. Vijayakumar has said.
He was speaking at a seminar on 'Railway development of Kerala' organised by the Kerala Youth Front here on Friday. “Land acquisition has been completed from Angamaly to Kalady,” he said.
Anti-development moves by certain elected representatives remain an obstacle to the progress of the project, he said adding that the Centre had been neglecting the demands of the State in this regard.
The decision to remove E. Ahamed as Union Minister of State or Railways is testimony to this attitude. Kerala Youth Front president P.C. Thomas spoke on the occasion.
