All the arrangements are in place for the State level valedictory function of the social solidarity week observance organised jointly by the local self government institutions and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe department on Thursday, the organisers said at a press conference here on Tuesday.
Paloli Mohammedkutty, Minister for the local self-government will inaugurate the function at the Chandragiri Auditorium here at 11 a.m. on Thursday. The Minister will also lay the foundation for the South Wayanad Model Residential School at Chithramoola near Kaniyampatta and a Pre-Metric hostel building at Kakkavayal on Thursday afternoon as a part of the social solidarity week observance.
A.K. Balan, Minister for Welfare of Scheduled and Backward Communities will preside over the function. The hostel block at Kaniyampatta will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.5 crore. Benoy Viswom, Minister for Forest, and M.I. Shanavas, MP will be the chief guests. P. Valsala, a notable novelist in Malayalam will deliver the key note address.
