Onam celebrated with gaiety

Kerala celebrates Onam with traditional feasts, gaiety and fanfare.

Variety entertainment programmes and competition including boat races are being staged in different parts of the State.

More than 4000 classical and folk artists are participating in the week-long official celebrations, inaugurated by the Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on Tuesday night. Celebrations began in the district and villages also on Tuesday.

After sumptuous feasts at noon, Keralites are looking forward to evenings of fun and frolic.
