Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA), on Saturday threatened to resort to ‘non-cooperation’ strike from February 27, protesting against government backtracking from the agreement it had reached with the association on wages.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Dr. S. Prameela Devi, President, KGMOA said that the Government had held discussions with the doctors under Health Services Department and reached a consensus on certain demands raised by the doctors in 2008.
However, the government had gone back from the agreement it had reached with KGMOA on the doctors wages, she said, adding ‘We have no other alternative other than resorting to non-cooperation strike.’
She said doctors are adopting a new mode of strike by working more hours during the strike period. Common people will not be put to trouble, she said.
Doctors will keep away from VIP duty and camp duty during the strike period, she said.
