TDB chief inspects Appam plant

The five-day rituals in the Malayalam month of Midhunom began at the Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala on Wednesday.

Head priest E.S. Sankaran Namboodiri opened the sanctum sanctorum at 5 a.m. on Wednesday and the rituals began with chief priest Kandararu Mahewararu Mohanraru performing the Ashtadravya Maha Ganapati homom at 5.15 a.m. The rituals will come to a close with the Athazhapuja on June 19 evening and the temple will be closed by 10.30 p.m.

Travancore Devaswom Board president Prayar Gopalakrishnan, accompanied by board officials, inspected the Appam preparation plant at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam on Wednesday.
