Madhavan Nair stresses need to promote scientific awareness among youth

The professional educational institutions in the country have to play a key role in promoting scientific awareness among the youth, said Dr. G.Madhavan Nair, renowned space scientist and former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation.

Mr. Nair was inaugurating the Sree Budha College of Engineering for Women at Elavumthitta near Aranmula on Monday afternoon.

According to him, the global-level changes in the field of science and technology should be analysed at regional level.

Mr. Nair said youth should contemplate on various scientific subjects with out the help of computers and Internet.

Prof. K.Sasikumar, Sree Budha Education Society chairman, presided over the function. He said the women’s engineering college has been set up as part of the society’s women empowerment programme by extending technical education facility to them.

Mr. Anto Antony, MP, inaugurated the Electronics and Applied Sciences Block and Mr K.C.Rajagopalan, MLA, inaugurated the workshop at the college.

A.N.Rajan Babu, former MLA, Prof K.Mathew, Dr P.K.Radhakrishnan, Prof Satheesh Kochuparambil, Mahatma Gandhi University syndicate members and Mezhuvely panchayat president, T.V.Stalin, also addressed the function.
