The annual Meena Bharani festival was celebrated with religious fervour at the famous Orippurathu Bhagavathy Temple at Thatta near Pandalam on Wednesday. The ‘Kettukazhcha,' parading of towering decorated wooden chariots called ‘kuthira' in local parlance, was the major attraction at the temple grounds on Wednesday afternoon.

‘Thookkom' today

The Thookkom vazhipadu, a unique offering reminiscing the human sacrifice (Narabali) of the yore, will be performed as part of the annual festival on Thursday.
