Kerala targets creation of 2 lakh IT jobs in 2 years

Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has said the State government is targeting to create 2 lakh jobs in the Information Technology sector within two years.

He was addressing a function here on Saturday to inaugurate the third IT Park in the State.

Companies have bought about 90 per cent of 40,000 sq. ft of space offered in the first phase of the park's development. The companies that are setting up offices there are Bluelabs Technology Solutions, Braddock Infotech, Cent Technologies, Inforprism Solutions, Advaya Infotech, Glitz IT Solutions, Sans Infotech, Guidelines Softnet Technologies, Exar Software Research and Gem Management.

In the second phase, to be completed by mid-2010, an additional 30,000 sq. ft will be offered. The third phase envisages the creation of 6,000 jobs and development of an additional 2 lakh sq ft. with the participation of private agencies.
