The family of John Philip of Cheruvilakathu House, Manarcadu, who is believed to be abducted from his petrol station in Oman on Friday night, is still in the dark about his fate. “We have registered our grievances with the Prime Minister’s website and also taken up with the Ministry of External Affairs (MoEA),” said Jacob Philip, John’s elder brother on Wednesday. The authorities had informed them that the MoEA had put the issue on top priority and had taken up the matter with their counterparts in Oman, he said.

They had also taken up the issue with former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the NoRKA, he said.

John Philip had been working as an employee at a private petrol station in Oman when he was found missing from his office last Saturday morning when his colleagues arrived. There were blood marks in the office and the CCTV camera and hard disk were missing. Also missing was the collection for the day. He was an employee of the company for more than 14 years and has been working at the station for the past four years. His relatives believed that it was a planned operation.
