Bomb hoax at Valapattanam bridge

The message came from the Gulf region around 2.30 p.m.

The police searched the Valapattanam bridge on the National Highway here on Sunday afternoon following a message that a bomb had been planted on the bridge. The message turned out to be hoax.

The bomb detection and disposal squad and the dog squad here sprang into action when the police control room in Thiruvananthapuram received a message that a bomb had been placed on the bridge. The police said the message came from the Gulf region around 2.30 p.m.

The phone number from which the message had been sent was 0097317840547, the police said. The squads searched all parts of the bridge thoroughly. The search continued till around 5 p.m.
