Applications invited for water awards

Applications have been invited from institutions and individuals for awards given in recognition of the measures taken for rejuvenation of the water table. Measures for rainwater harvesting, measures to increase the ground water level and steps to reuse polluted water will be considered for the award. Those who have worked in the awareness programmes at least for two years can apply for the awards. Registered non-governmental organisations, industrial institutions, institutes that engage in research programmes with the participation of farmers, grama panchayats and municipalities are eligible to apply for the awards. The guidelines and application forms can be downloaded from http://mowr.gov.in, said an official release here.

Awards worth Rs.1 lakh will be given for rejuvenation measures. The national water award consists of a purse of for Rs.10 lakh.
