Amrita Institute to open medical centre at Pampa

The Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, is to open its Sree Ayyappa Medical Centre at Pampa on the foothills of Sabarimala on Tuesday.

According to AIMS liaison officer, K.Mohanachandran Nair, the seasonal healthcare facility for Sabarimala pilgrims has been arranged at the multi-storey TDB building near the Maramath Complex at Pampa.

Devaswom Minister, Ramachandran Kadannappally, will inaugurate the medical centre at a simple function to be held at Pampa on Tuesday forenoon. M.Rajagopalan Nair, TDB president, will preside over the inaugural function and Swami Thuriyamruthananda Puri of Mata Amruthanandamayi Madhom at Vallikkavu will deliver the benedictory speech on the occasion.

Mr Nair said AIMS has also made arrangements to provide most modern ambulance facility for free transportation of critically ill patients from the Pampa centre to its super-speciality hospital in Kochi.

Patients who have been shifted to AIMS in Kochi would be provided with advanced medical care free of cost, if needed.

Besides the state of the art free healthcare facility, the AIMS centre at Pampa will also have an advanced tele-medicine unit-cum-operation theatre.
