Administrative nod for projects worth Rs 5000 cr: P.K. Sreemathy

The State government has accorded administrative sanction for various development projects worth Rs 5000 crore across the State, said Ms P.K.Sreemathy, Minister for Health.

The Minister was inaugurating the newly constructed footbridge at Arayanjilimon near Ranni-Perinad on Saturday evening.

The footbridge has been constructed parallel to the existing causeway across river Pampa at Arayanjilimon at a total cost of Rs 20 lakhs.

Presiding over the inaugural meet, Mr Raju Abraham, MLA said the footbridge was a boon to the households in the small hamlet of Arayanjilimon surrounded by water on its three sides situated in the

interior reaches of Ranni taluk, especially during the monsoon months.

The bridge, linking the two panchayats of Perinad and Vechoochira, has been constructed with financial contribution of Rs 10 lakhs from District Panchayat, Rs 5 lakh each from the local area development of

the MLA and the Perinad grama panchayat.

Mr Anto Antony, MP, delivered the keynote address, Ms A.Santhakumari, District Panchayat president, Ms Komalam Anirudhan, Ranni Block Panchayat president and Ms Ramanikkutty Amma, Perinad grama panchayat president, also spoke.
