As many as 544 of the 1,042 local body members in the district will be women. If any woman wins a general seat, the representation of woman in the local bodies in the district will further go up. Eight of the 16 divisions of the district panchayat have been reserved for women.
Fifty-seven of the 106 block panchayat divisions in the district too are reserved for women.
At the grama panchayat level, 422 of the 788 panchayat wards will be represented by them.
The four municipalities of Adoor, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvalla, and Pandalam have 132 seats and 67 of them have been reserved for women.
