Same party rule in Delhi and at the Centre can actually become dangerous for the country, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal said here on Thursday.
Speaking exclusively to The Hindu , the former Delhi Chief Minister said it was wrong to say that same party government in Delhi and at the Centre would be beneficial.
“Earlier we had Congress rule in Delhi and Congress-led UPA regime at the Centre. Both indulged in corruption. There should never be same party government in Delhi and at the Centre. It can actually be dangerous for democracy.’’
He, however, does not believe sitting on dharna “for raising one’s voice against injustice to people” is such a bad thing. “Article 19 (1) of the Constitution guarantees that right. There are about 20 Chief Ministers who have sat on dharna at various points in time to press their demand from the Central government. Among them is Narendra Modi when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat, Nitish Kumar, M. Karunanidhi, Jayalalithaa and Chandrababu Naidu.’’

On the BJP leaders calling him an “anarchist” he said they have nothing else to say as they have no agenda.
“They do politics of abuse. We do politics of development. The agendas are clear.”
So what is the main issue in these elections? “Price rise and corruption. Forty-nine days of AAP government versus seven months of BJP government versus 15 years of Congress rule.”
Sensing an “undercurrent for AAP” in Delhi, Mr. Kejriwal said the BJP mounted a massive campaign and brought in Union Ministers and MPs. “It shows they are losing. They did not do this in Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Haryana. These are clear signs.”
Drawn from its “Delhi Dialogue,” the AAP has developed a road map for Delhi which includes women’s security, and ridding the capital city of bribery.
