The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa is learnt to have written a letter to the party central leadership on Sunday seeking its intervention to get proper political accommodation for his followers in the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The letter comes close on the heels of his followers threatening to take a call on their political future if they were not accommodated in the BJP. Mr. Yeddyurappa is believed to have taken such a step as the decision on re-admitting some of his followers, who have faced disciplinary action, will have to be taken only by the central unit.
Sources said that the BJP had accommodated nearly 100 prominent leaders from the Karnataka Janata Paksha and that it was in the process of accommodating more people. But it was not possible to accommodate all, they said.
M.D. Laxminarayana, MLC, who is spearheading the campaign for Mr. Yeddyurappa’s followers, told The Hindu that they were not ready to wait for more than a week.
