‘Yakshagana unites people’

October 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - SIRSI:

“Yakshagana is an art form which brings artistes and admirers from various sections of society together,” social worker Shashibhushan Hegde Dodmane said at Mundigesar near Sirsi on Wednesday.

He was participating in the inauguration ceremony of a five-day Yaksha Panchotsava at Sri Mahaganapati Temple there.

Unesco should think of launching a World Heritage Art to conserve traditional art forms and Yakshagana had all qualities to be considered for the title, he said.

Yakshagana Bhagwat Kolgi Keshav Hegde was felicitated.
