‘Yaksha Panchotsava’ at Mundigesar from today

A five-day ‘Yaksha Panchotsava’ will be held at Sri Mahaganapati Temple hall at Mundigesar near Sirsi from Wednesday. It has been organised by the Kalagadde Shambu Shishya Yakshagana Pratistana and Anant Yakshakala Pratistan Siddapur.

District in-charge Minister R.V. Deshpande will inaugurate the programme at 5 p.m. Yakshagana Bhagwat Keshav Hegde Kolgi will be felicitated.

Yakshagana event

Vedamurthy Shrinivas Bhat, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, MLA and social worker Shashibhushan Hegde Dodmane will be present. ‘Krishnarjuna’ Yakshagana will be staged later.

Yakshagana artiste Gode Narayan Hegde will be felicitated at 5 p.m. on October 8.

TSS president Shantaram Hegde will preside over the programme and Yakshagana ‘Sri RamaNiryana’ will be staged later.

Yakshagana organiser Subray Hegde Shinganalli will be felicitated by Sharada Shetty Kumta, MLA, on October 9. Cooperative leader Shanmukh Gouda will preside over the programme and ‘Karnaparva’ Yakshagana will be staged later.

On October 10, Yakshagana patron Ramachandra Hegde Tyagli will be felicitated. Yakshagana scholar M.A. Hegde will preside over the programme and Yakshagana ‘Sri Krishna Sandana’ will be staged. Shivaram Hebbar, MLA, will be chief guest in the valedictory programme on October 11.

Veteran Yakshagana artiste K.G. Kelamane will be felicitated and Vidvan V. Gopalkrishna Sharma will preside over the programme.

Yakshagana ‘Indrajitu-Ravanavadhe’ will be staged later.
