Yadgir CMC Commissioner taken into custody for graft

Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials team caught Commissioner of Yadgir City Municipal Council Ramesh Nayak red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of ₹ 25,000 from Jagadish Pujari, for sanctioning building construction permission.

Pursuing a complaint by Dr. Pujari, the team, headed by Veeranna, Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB, raided the office of the CMC, where the accused was accepting the bribe.

When contacted, Mr. Veeranna told The Hindu that they have taken the accused into their custody and an inquiry is on.

The raid was conducted as per instructions by Anita Haddannavar, Superintendent of Police, ACB. Yashwant Bisnalli and Mahantesh Patil, Inspectors, and other staff were on the team, he added.
