An unidentified woman, aged about 25, was allegedly raped and strangled at Pandavapura in the district. The police suspect that the incident might have occurred in the early hours of Friday. Her body was found next to the railway track near Pandavapura Sahakari Sakkare Karkhane on Friday morning. According to the police, the body must have been dumped near the Bengaluru-Mysuru railway line to make the murder appear like suicide. Local residents saw the body and alerted the police. The Railway Police visited the spot and registered a case.
