Wipro to add 25,000 more jobs in State

IT major Wipro will add around 25,000 tech jobs in Karnataka. The announcement was made by Wipro Chairman Azim Premji during the inaugural ceremony of ‘Invest Karnataka 2016’. At present, the company employs around 55,000 people in the State.

“In our information technology business, we are in the midst of a major expansion which will add about 25,000 people to Karnataka and to Bengaluru,” Mr. Premji said.

He said, “Bengaluru has infrastructure problems but has nice weather. Our experience is that the source of the best technical talent in the country is in Bengaluru.”

Mr. Premji said, “We are endorsing the fact that Karnataka is a very hospitable and a very progressive State for investors.”
