What they suggest

The best strategy would have been to form a new and independent agency, similar to the one in Bengaluru, to handle water distribution, suggest Dr. Shenoy and Mr. Chandraprakash from the MGP. Since that is not possible now, the MCC should hand over the operations to KUWSDB as most experts have recommended.

JUSCO has a computer-based system to monitor water supply and billing system. But, the VVVW has no qualified engineering staff to take over it. If the MCC was really interested in ensuring daily efficient water supply they would have been better prepared to take control from JUSCO.

When asked if it was prepared to take over from the JUSCO, the VVWW conceded it could do so onlyafter filling up the existing 50 percent vacancies. The MGP sought to know when the vacancies would be filled.
