Water-levels in reservoirs across the State are inching up as rains continue to lash across the State.
Alamatti
Water-level in the Alamatti dam has been continuously increasing owing to the incessant rain in parts of Maharashtra and Krishna basin. Water-level in the dam has reached 515.35 meters while the total height of the dam is 519.06 meters. By Monday morning, a total of 102.86 tmcft of water was stored as against the full reservoir level of 123.81 tmcft.
Linganamakki, Bhadra
Water-level in the Linganamakki reservoir, the source of water for the Sharavathi hydro electric project, has reached 1,800 ft (mean sea level) mark on Monday, as against the full reservoir level of 1,819 ft. Last year on the same day, the reservoir had 1,757.60 ft of water.
Water-level in the Bhadra reservoir has reached 174 ft as against the full reservoir level of 186 ft. An inflow at the rate of 30,543 cusecs was recorded here.
Narayanpur
The Narayanpur dam across River Krishna in Surpur taluk in Yadgir district was almost full and stood at 491.280 meters as against the full reservoir level of 492.250 meters. Officials of Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigama Ltd (KBJNL) said that the authorities had decided to increase the outflow at the rate of 1.30 lakh cusecs on Monday.
Tungabhadra
The the inflow into the Tungabhadra reservoir was at the rate of 85,000 cusecs on Monday, touching the full reservoir level of 1,633 ft. The discharge from the reservoir on Monday was at the rate of 28,000 cusecs. As many as 10 out of the total 33 gates have been opened to a height of one feet to release the surplus water.
Landslips in Kodagu
Rain fury continued in Madikeri city and surrounding areas and different parts of Shantalli hobli in Somwarpet taluk of Kodagu on Monday. Heavy rainfall has resulted in several landslips in Monnangeri village near Madikeri. As a precautionary measure, residents of the village were shifted to rehabilitation centres by the district administration.
