Water purification plants inaugurated

Minister for Horticulture and district in-charge Shamanur Shivshankarappa has said that the government has taken up installation of 1,000 drinking water purification units across the State. Steps had been taken to install 100 such units in the first phase, he said here on Wednesday.

Mr. Shivashankarappa was here to inaugurate a drinking water purification unit at Taralabalur Nagar and Kukkwad villages in Davangere South Assembly constituency.

The government had taken up multi-village drinking water schemes in districts and 20 such schemes were in progress in Davangere district.

Davangere Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S.B. Bommanhalli was present.
