October 20, 2017 04:15 pm | Updated 04:15 pm IST - Kolar

The Neeravari Horata Samithi members offered ‘bagina’ (puja) to Ammerahalli tank on the outskirts of the town on Friday. The tank overflowed owing to good rain recently. Ammerahalli is one of the major tanks which supplies water to Kolar town.

Speaking on the occasion, Samithi leader K. Venkatesh urged the district administration to evict the encroachments on channel feeders to ensure smooth flow of water to the tanks. He attributed encroachment as the reason for Kolaramma tank in the town not being filled.
