Re-polling

The State Election Commission has ordered re-poll at Jodikodihalli of Belenahalli Gram Panchayat in Tarikere taluk. Re-polling will be held between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner B.S. Shekharappa had written to the commission seeking re-poll as polling was stopped in the booth on Friday. The candidates had raised objections over the way the booth’s seal was put on ballot papers and stopped polling. The ink had spread over the ballot paper, creating confusion on if the votes would be treated valid during the counting.
