Vijayapura ZP’s efforts to improve administration

May 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - Vijayapura:

The Vijayapura Zilla Panchyat has decided to effectively use the available resources for improving the efficiency of the administration and has identified 13 departments under it for the purpose.

The zilla panchayat will provide better facilities without seeking additional funds from the government.

“The potential is vast if you improve the efficiency. We are only tapping it by initiating the project,” zilla panchayat president Umesh Kolkur said.

He was addressing presspersons after releasing a booklet titled ‘Pragati Patha’ here on Friday that contains the plans for improving the selected departments.

Mr. Kolkur said as part of the initiative, there was a proposal to convince specialist doctors in private hospitals to visit government hospitals at least once in a week or in a fortnight.

Mr. Kolkur said the panchayat would take against quacks in the district in three months. He said that a committee would be formed to identify such people.

It will provide better facilities to residents
