Vijay Jyoti Yatra flagged off

Handibadagnath Swami and Arvind Patil, MLA, flagged of Sangolli Rayanna Vijay Jyoti after a ceremonial puja at samadhi of Rayanna at Nandagad of Khanapur taluk on Tuesday.

The Vijay Jyoti would cover the 10 taluks of the district and culminate at Sangolli on January 12. A two-day cultural festival will begin that day.

The district administration has acquired 12 acres 28 gunthas of land around the samadhi to set up a residential sainik school and a rock garden to develop it as a tourism destination.

As the Vijay Jyoti arrived in Belagavi city, Sanjay B. Patil, MLA, and others welcomed it at Bogarves.
