Upalokayukta S.B. Majage paid a surprise visit to Koppal district on Wednesday and went round offices and government hospitals in Kushtagi, Yelburga and Koppal.
During his visit to the sub-registrar’s office, he verified the records and also the fees collected for the day. On finding that there was no mismatch, he advised the officials to continue to work sincerely. At the Koppal City Municipal Council, Mr. Majage took a few officials to task over the pending applications under Sakaala scheme and directed them to dispose of the applications pending within the stipulated time.
On seeing an aged woman standing with an application seeking gas connection, Mr. Majage ensured that her application was disposed of on the spot. People complained about the delay in clearing applications at the Koppal taluk office.
When people drew his attention towards the encroachments on roads and public places, Mr. Majage directed municipal commissioner Ramesh Pattedar to inquire into the matter and initiate suitable steps to get the encroachments cleared.
