The Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government is trying to create obstacles before the pro-people projects initiated by the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, the former Union Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has alleged.

He was at Bidnal near here on Tuesday to hand over the record of rights of Ashraya houses to 10 beedi workers.

Mr. Kharge said the work on 200 houses for beedi workers was initiated when he was the Union Labour Minister.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLA Prasad Abbayya, the former Minister Jabbar Khan Honnalli, Labour Minister T. Parameshwar Naik, the former chairman of Legislative Council Viranna Mattikatti, MLA Vinay Kulkarni, and the former Minister A.M. Hindasageri were present.
