The doors of two locked houses in Basaveshwar Nagar locality in Yadgir city were found broken open on Saturday. However, as the owners had not kept valuables or cash inside the houses, nothing was found missing.

Team set up

The police said that the incident occurred when the owners of the houses were not in the city. Superintendent of Police Vinayaka Patil told The Hindu that the police have taken the continuing incidents of burglary and theft seriously and a special team consisting of senior police officials headed by Balachandra Lakkam had been formed to crack these cases.

He said that night-and-day patrolling would be strengthened to ensure people’s safety. Mr. Patil appealed to the people to inform the police before leaving the city.
