TruJet flight timing revised

November 22, 2017 01:07 am | Updated 01:07 am IST - MYSURU

The TruJet’s flight schedule on the Chennai-Mysuru-Chennai sector has been revised.

The flight operations under the Centre’s regional connectivity scheme UDAN (Udey Desh Ka Aam Nagarik) had a late evening schedule so far. The flight from Chennai would land in the city at 6.50 p.m. and take off at 7.10 p.m.

As per the revised schedule, the TruJet flight from Chennai will land at Mysuru airport at 12.10 p.m. and depart at 12.40 p.m. M.N. Singh, Airport Director, Mysuru, said there were no flights from November 16 to 20 owing to ‘operational reasons’. The first flight with the revised timings left on Tuesday.

However, a representative of the airline said the flight timings were revised for the winter schedule and efforts were on to secure the original schedule of late evening departure. “The late evening flight had a good response given the time saved and the fact that the operations had stabilised. People were aware of those timings. The revised timings are not known to many. Hence, it may take a while before passenger traffic picks up once more,” he added.

At present, only ATR-72 flight with a capacity of about 70 passengers operates to Mysuru given the short runway of the airport.

Mr. Singh said Air Odisha, the second operator given the license to fly on the Chennai-Mysuru sector under the UDAN scheme, has sought the requisite permission which has been issued. As on Tuesday, there was no confirmation of the date, he added. Besides, facilities for check-in and appointing a representative were yet to be made, he added.
