Trauma centre to come up in Kalaburagi

The foundation stone for the proposed of state-of-the-art trauma care centre to be taken up at a cost of Rs. 21 crore would be laid after the finalisation of tenders for the construction of the centre in the District Hospital Complex in Kalaburagi.

Minister of State for Medical Education Sharanprakash Patil told The Hindu here on Sunday that the foundations stone for a similar trauma care centre has already been laid at Mysuru. The proposed trauma care centre here would have specialisation in Orthopaedics and Neurology.

The Finance Department has already given its approval for the appointment of the required staff to man the centres.

To a question, Dr. Patil said that the proposal for the establishment of super speciality hospitals in Mysuru, Kalaburagi and Belagavi was before the Finance Department.
