June 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - Dharwad:

A staff of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, is said to have consumed poison and ended his life at the Vice-Chancellor’s chamber here on Thursday. Nizamuddin Mallur (54) was working as a field assistant at the university’s laboratory. Sources said that he was recently transferred to Arabhavi and he was not happy with it.

Vice-Chancellor D.P. Biradar said that in the last few months Mallur had been irregular to work and hence he had been transferred. “He came to my chamber on Thursday seeking cancellation of his transfer but I told him to work for a few days at Arabhavi,” Mr. Biradar added.
