The district administration will conduct a series of training sessions to improve SSLC results in the district, Deputy Commissioner P.C. Jaffer has said on Monday.
These will include refresher courses, mock tests and examination-orientation programmes for teachers and students, he said after inaugurating a training camp for Marathi and Urdu teachers in Shaheen College. The Department of Education will engage the services of resource persons from Bengaluru and Mangaluru in the training programmes. He observed that students of the district were consistently performing poorly in public examinations.
“For decades, we have stood at the bottom of the list of districts ranked according to performance in SSLC. This is not a matter of pride for any of us,” he said.
