Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday took a dig at JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy for blaming him for the collapse of the coalition government.

Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Siddaramaiah questioned the reason behind the JD(S) leader considering him a foe instead of a trustworthy ally.

“That is what happens when people are unable to run the government,” he said, before claiming that Mr. Kumaraswamy had started directing his “vengeance” against him after assuming that he was an “enemy”.

Mr. Siddaramaiah also claimed that the BJP government in the State had come to power through the back door by adopting immoral means such as horse-trading through ‘Operation Lotus’.

He alleged that the rebel MLAs were threatening the BJP government over the issue of portfolios. On the other side, there is widespread disgruntlement among BJP MLAs over Cabinet formation. “Hence, they have not been able to allocate portfolios,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Ministers Eshwar Khandre, N. Cheluvarayaswamy, and H.M. Revanna came in support of Mr. Siddaramaiah and criticised Mr. Kumaraswamy for his remarks.
