Thippeswamy, 76, former Minister, died after brief illness at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

He is survived by a son and a daughter. Mr. Thippeswamy had a political career of four decades and had served as Excise Minister in the H.D. Deve Gowda government. He represented Challakere Assembly constituency in Chitradurga district.

BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa, B. Sriramulu, MLA, and other senior leaders of the State expressed condolences to the senior leader’s family.
