The Hindu Education Plus counselling tomorrow

The 12th edition of the Annual Career Counselling and guidance session organised by The Hindu Education Plus will be held at the Doddappa Appa Auditorium here on Sunday. Experts from different parts of Karnataka and representatives from the Karnataka Examination Authority will provide the much-needed advice to students to choose the right kind of courses to shape their academic and professional career.

Besides explaining the opportunities in medical and engineering courses, the experts will also give details about the opportunities in other streams of higher education.

For the first time, experts from the field of Fine Arts and Tourism have been invited to highlight avenues available in these sectors. The session will be inaugurated by one of the seniormost faculty member in the Indian Institute of Languages and Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Karnataka H.M. Maheshwaraiah.

A teacher who has worked in different capacities in Karnatak University and other centres of higher studies is an acknowledged expert in the field of phonetics, linguistics, folkloristics and modern Kannada literature, Prof. Maheshwaraiah will speak on the opportunities available for students who choose Arts, Science and Commerce.

Prof. Maheshwaraiah will also release the career handbook “Fusing career and passion” and the book will be given free to all the students who participate in the counselling session.

Artist V.G. Andani and Vanishree, Principal of College of Master of Tourism Administration, will shed light on the opportunities available in Fine Arts and Tourism. Sangeeta Kattimani from the KEA will clarify the doubts in the minds of the students on the procedure adopted in allotment of the seats in professional colleges during online counselling of the CET and V.D. Mytri, Executive Council member of the VTU, would be in the panel of experts to provide details on Engineering courses.
