The Hindu-Edge Career Counselling 2018 to help students make informed career choices and chalk out their future will be held in the city on Sunday.
The programme, to begin at 9.30 a.m. on May 20 at Jaganmohan Palace Auditorium, will feature officials from the Karnataka Examination Authority who will make a presentation on the CET counselling and admission procedure for students and parents.
This will be followed by a presentation on alternative career choices by professional career counsellors. The presentation by CET and career counsellors will be followed by an interaction in which resource persons and experts from Engineering and Medical fields will answer questions on various professional or general courses available, future prospects, scope, eligibility requirements, etc.
The Nxt Step
The programme is open to all. Each participant will receive a free copy of ‘The Nxt Step’, a career handbook published by The Hindu which has articles on changing trends that will help students plan their next step.
The Hindu EDGE Career Counselling event sets a benchmark in educational & professional guidance. It acts as a platform to connect students and parents with speakers and educational institutions. This will help students make right decisions after getting necessary counselling and guidance.
The Hindu invites students who have cleared their II PUC this year besides those enrolled for II PUC as well as their parents to apprise themselves about the career opportunities, the trends in the industrial sector and the future prospects in various streams.

Students of Classes 9 to 12, including those who want to pursue higher studies after Class 12, besides students looking for post-graduation in different fields can attend.
