Ten persons injured in road accident

Ten people, including a Circle Police Inspector attached to the office of the Superintendent of Police, Dharwad, were injured in a road accident here on Monday.

The accident occurred when a lorry, which was on its way to Hubballi from Gadag, rammed a KSRTC bus on Gadag road near here.

According to sources, the lorry driver was trying to avoid a collision with a four-wheeler. The lorry was carrying the household belongings of Circle Police Inspector S.K. Holeyannavar who had been recently transferred to Dharwad.

Mr. Holeyannavar, the bus driver Mahadevappa Hongal, conductor Shekappa Gabbenur and seven other passengers have been injured.

All of them were provided treatment at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here.
