Ten out of 12 children who studied at Kaliyuva Mane and appeared for the SSLC examination have passed. Kaliyuva Mane (Home for Learning) is a free residential and non-residential school near Mysuru.

Divya Deepa Charitable Trust runs this school at Kenchalagudu village that is about 15 km from Mysuru. Ten of the students passed in the English medium with Kannada as their first language, English their second and Sanskrit their third.

The students who passed include Daanish, Dharmesh R., Sumanth V., Nitish Kumar B., Ravinandaradhya, Sunil S., Bhavani K., Manoj S., Raju S. and Roopa K. All of them belonged to the ‘Shradda’ team. Eight children from the school had passed the exam last year.

The children who came to this school had faced numerous social, educational and emotional hurdles. Some of them had no formal schooling prior to this. In a conventional sense, this is neither a Kannada medium nor an English medium school. Children from difficult backgrounds stay here as resident scholars and admission is offered round-the-year. The school aims to transform the lives of underprivileged children from the rural community.

Here, during admissions, priority is given to drop-outs, children with turbulent childhoods and first generation school goers.
